Normandy is the birthplace of Impressionism. One look at the countryside and yoau can see why artists adore Normandy. Much of this area remains rural and cows and farmland abound.
Normandy is a major cider-producing region (very little wine is produced). Perry is also produced, but in less significant quantities. Apple brandy, of which the most famous variety is calvados, is also popular.
Normandy's name comes from the settlement of the territory by Vikings ("Northmen") starting in the 9th century, and confirmed by treaty in the 10th century between King Charles III of France and the Viking jarl Rollo.

The conference hotel Belle Normandy has only 20 guest rooms, all of which are initially reserved for persons registered for the CE meeting. However, rooms in the hotel may become available at a later date if our meeting attendees do not fill all 20 rooms early enough. If you have friends or family traveling with you who need separate rooms, we can suggest alternative hotels within walking distance of Belle Normandy. We will stay in close touch with the hotel and advise registrants when/if rooms at Belle Normandy become available for non-CE meeting guests at a later date.
IMPORTANT: Because of this location in Normandy, the 80th Anniversary, and the small boutique hotel, you MUST REGISTER FIRST for the CE and then you'll be able to secure your room.
PLEASE NOTE: THIS PARTICULAR CE EVENT IS NON TRANSFERRABLE AND NON CANCELLABLE. IF YOU CANNOT MAKE THIS EVENT AFTER YOU REGISTER FOR IT, YOUR REGISTRATION IS FORFEITED AND CANNOT BE REFUNDED OR EXCHANGED.
