Nice, Corsica & The French Riviera

Western Mediterranean Adventure on the Royal Clipper Sailing Vessel

Aoril 24- May 1, 2027

Cruise The French Riviera

Royal Clipper Sailing Vessel

Royal Clipper Sailing Vessel

Once again, we head back on board the Royal Clipper, this time for a fun filled April 2027 cruise through French and Italian Mediterranean islands. This is not your average cruise. Far from it! CE in Italy & Europe is happy to provide you with venues that are memorable in ways beyond other destination CE providers. And one of the ways we accomplish this is to avoid the mega cruise ships and go with a more personalized boutique-style yet amenity-filled cruise experience.

Beginning April 24, 2027, we will again be sailing the Star Clippers cruise line with this particular venue aboard the Royal Clipper, the largest full rigged sailing ship in the world.

While it is the largest rigged sailing ship in the world, the passenger capacity is only 220. And with just a 1:1 crew to voyager ratio, attention to detail is not spared.

Inspired by the legendary 1902 ship Preussen, Royal Clipper combines the grandeur and adventure of classic sailing with the luxury and amenities of a modern yacht.

The ship itself, the Royal Clipper, is nothing short of magnificent!  From the polished brass to the beautiful teak wood works, to the fantastic cuisine, to the billowing sails and sail away ritual. Oh, and did I mention the on-deck pools? The cabins with verandas? The gymnasium? The 2-story atrium? Absolutely top notch, and as mentioned earlier, the cruise line service is simply over the top.

The general itinerary of the cruise begins in and ends in Nice, France, a vibrant city on the southeastern coast of France, nestled on the Mediterranean Sea at the foot of the French Alps. It is the fifth-largest city in France and affectionately known as “Nice la Belle” (“Nice the Beautiful”). The city is famed for its stunning seafront, mild climate, and rich cultural heritage.

From Nice, we will visit Portofino, Corsica, Sardinia, St. Tropez, and other exciting ports of call in this beautiful and ancient region before returning to back to Nice on May 1.

At this conference, a total of 12 hours of COPE accredited CME will be offered.

Of those 12 hours, the first 6 hours will be offered before the cruise departs in the Host Hotel (The Host Hotel location is yet to be published as of 1-8-2026.)

Providing 6 of the 12 CME in Nice prior to departure serves 2 purposes: It reduces the number of hours offered on board while we are sailing and it gives you the opportunity to arrive in Nice a couple of days BEFORE the cruise departs, allowing you to get into France and have a day or two (or THREE) to relax and enjoy Nice and then head out from Nice for the cruise.

The remaining six hours of CME will occur on board, while we are sailing. These hours will not be scheduled during our ports of call, giving you the opportunity to visit each location on the cruise.

All of our CME is COPE accredited, co-sponsored by the Illinois College of Optometry and approved for ALL STATES using CE Broker.

Since we finish back in Nice a week after departure, you also have the opportunity to stay in France and explore other areas of this magnificent country.

Please note that each individual registrant is responsible for booking their own pre-cruise and/or post-cruise accommodations.

More About...Pre/Post Cruise Details and Trip Planning

Book Early!

Our previous venues with this same cruise line were a tremendous success, and this venue also will be very popular.  Since we are on a cruise ship, once the ship fills, registration for this meeting will be cut off.  And this venue will fill!  So, I’d suggest registering for this venue and reserving your cabin as soon as possible!

One of the questions often asked for this venue is if your non-OD friends and family can join you on the cruise, and the answer is a resounding

YES!  Of course, they can!  CE in Italy & Europe’s goal is to provide outstanding clinical education in outstanding environments.  And our belief is that a relaxed learning environment is conducive to actually taking clinical information back home with you.  A big part of that is having fun at the venue, which often includes family and friends. Whether you plan on disembarking at each port of call or just chilling out on the deck, the pace of this destination CE venue is entirely up to you. The ports of call are beautiful, the ship is beautiful, the amenities are beautiful.

Since the first 6 hours of CME are to be held PRIOR to departure, you will need to arrange for pre-cruise accommodations and may want to stay at the location where these hours will be offered.

Since we finish back in Nice a week after departure, you also have the opportunity to stay in France and explore other areas of this magnificent country. That is one of the nicest things about our meetings: when you arrive and when you depart is entirely up to you. With this venue, although the sailing dates and ports of call are firm, your pre-cruise and post cruise itineraries are entirely up to you!

PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR BOOKING YOUR LAND BASED ACCOMMODATIONS AND WILL WANT TO DO SO ASAP ONCE HOST HOTEL HAS BEEN PROVIDED
