Once again, we head back on board the Royal Clipper for a fun filled summer cruise along the southern coast of Italy and Sicily. But this is not your average cruise. Far from it! CE in Italy/Europe is happy to provide you with venues that are memorable in ways beyond other destination CE providers. And one of the ways we accomplish this is to avoid the mega cruise ships and go with a more personalized boutique-style yet amenity- filled cruise experience.

In early summer of 2024, we will again be sailing the Star Clippers cruise line with this particular venue aboard the Royal Clipper, the largest full rigged sailing ship in the world. While it is the largest rigged sailing ship in the world, the passenger capacity is only 220. And with just a 1:1 crew to voyager ratio, attention to detail is not spared.

The ship itself, the Royal Clipper, is nothing short of magnificent!  From the polished brass to the beautiful teak wood works, to the fantastic cuisine, to the billowing sails and sail away ritual. Oh, and did I mention the on-deck pools? The cabins with verandas? The gymnasium? The 2-story atrium? Absolutely top notch, and as mentioned earlier, the cruise line service is simply over the top.

The general itinerary of the cruise begins in The Eternal City of Rome on June 1, 2024. From there we make stops along the Amalfi Coast, as well as some of the more popular islands along the coastline, including Sicily, ultimately heading back to Rome on the last day of the cruise, June 8, 2024.

At this conference, a total of 12 hours of COPE accredited CME will be offered. Of those 12 hours, the first 6 hours will be offered the day before the cruise departs. These 6 CE hours will be offered in Rome on MAY 31, 2024 at our host hotel: 47Boutique Hotel  For accommodations please contact 47 Hotel directly at reservations@fortysevenhotel.com and mention that you are with the CE in Italy & Europe conference.

Please note that each individual registrant is responsible for booking their own pre-cruise and/or post-cruise accommodations.

Providing 6 of the 12 CME in Rome on May 31 prior to departure serves 2 purposes: It reduces the number of hours offered on board while we are sailing and it gives you the opportunity to arrive in Rome a couple of days BEFORE the cruise departs, allowing you to get into Italy and have a day or two (or THREE) to relax and enjoy Rome and then head out from Rome for the cruise. The remaining six hours of CME will occur on board, while we are sailing. These hours will not be scheduled during our ports of call, giving you the opportunity to visit each location on the cruise.

All of our CME is COPE accredited, co-sponsored by the Illinois College of Optometry and approved for Florida re-licensure by CE Broker.

Since we finish back in Rome a week after departure, you also have the opportunity to stay in Italy and explore other areas of this magnificent country. That is one of the nicest things about our meetings: when you arrive and when you depart is entirely up to you. With this venue, although the sailing dates and ports of call are firm, your pre-cruise and post cruise itineraries are entirely up to you!

Our previous venues through the Greek Isles with this same cruise line were a tremendous success, and this venue also will be very popular.  Since we are on a cruise ship, once the ship fills, registration for this meeting will be cut off.  And this venue will fill!  So, I’d suggest registering for this venue and reserving your cabin as soon as possible.

One of the questions often asked for this venue is if your non-OD friends and family can join you on the cruise, and the answer is a resounding YES!  Of course, they can!  CE in Italy/Europe’s goal is to provide outstanding clinical education in outstanding environments.  And our belief is that a relaxed learning environment is conducive to actually taking clinical information back home with you.  A big part of that is having fun at the venue, which often includes family and friends. Whether you plan on disembarking at each port of call or just chilling out on the deck, the pace of this destination CE venue is entirely up to you. The ports of call are beautiful, the ship is beautiful, the amenities are beautiful.

Since the first 6 hours of CME are to be held on MAY 31 in Rome PRIOR to departure, you will need to arrange for pre-cruise accommodations, and may want to stay at the location where these hours will be offered. Our host for this portion of the conference is 47 Boutique Hotel the perfect combination of comfort, style and elegance. It has a central location, close to Circus Maximus and the Colosseum.  Please contact the hotel directly for accommodations by email:  reservations@fortysevenhotel.com and be sure to mention that you are traveling with Dr. Fanelli's CE in Italy & Europe group for the best available pricing.

PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR BOOKING YOUR LAND BASED ACCOMMODATIONS AND WILL WANT TO DO SO EARLY!

Come join us! You will have the time of your life!
